The watch is in 8.9/10 in excellent condition where it maintains its original shape and design. The dial of the watch in brushed grey finishing is extremely well preserved and appears to be in excellent condition with minor oxidisation to the indices and hands and minimal damage on the dial. The case is slightly worn with some signs of scratches but is excellent and still engravings are still clearly visible. The bracelet is one of the strongest bracelet we have seen on a vintage Vacheron Constantin 222.

Our Thoughts:

Designed by Jörg Hysek, the 222 redefined elegance with its slim profile, integrated bracelet, and signature notched bezel, making it an instant classic. The 34mm midsized version in two-tone metal perfectly balances luxury and versatility, appealing to collectors who appreciate understated sophistication.

What makes the 222 so collectible is its rarity and historical significance. The two-tone combination of stainless steel and yellow gold captures the bold aesthetic of the era while maintaining a timeless charm. This midsized reference, with its harmonious proportions and neo-vintage appeal, has become a grail for those seeking a slice of horological history that feels relevant even today.

In the world of neo-vintage watchmaking, the 222 holds a special place as a pioneer of the integrated sports watch genre. Its design inspired future generations of luxury sports watches, and its resurgence in the modern market underscores its enduring legacy.
