Condition:
The watch is in excellent 9/10 condition and has been well preserved throughout its life. The case remains in great overall condition with only light signs of wear with some scuffing but minimal. The engravings and hallmarks appears to be strong and case remains near unpolished. The dial appears to remain original and unchanged, with all printing, hands, and calendar indications retaining their original appearance with some yellow patina to the dial but remains even and consistent to time period. Accompanying the watch are its original strap and accessories.
Our Thoughts:
The Les Historique Chronograph 47111 is a wonderful example of Vacheron Constantin’s approach to chronograph design. Inspired by the 4178, the watch captures the elegance of the manufacture’s mid-century chronographs while remaining entirely practical as a modern wristwatch. The platinum case and beautifully balanced dial creates a chronograph that feels timeless.
Turning the watch over reveals one of its greatest strengths. Beneath the sapphire case back is Vacheron’s caliber 1141, based on the legendary Lemania 2310, a movement that has served as the foundation for some of the finest chronographs ever produced. Extensively reworked , hand-finished, and awarded the Geneva seal, the caliber reflects the level of craftsmanship collectors expect from the manufacture. The 47111P is as rewarding mechanically as aesthetically.
