The watch is in outstanding 9.6/10 condition and appears to have been worn very sparingly. Both the case and bracelet remain exceptionally well preserved with only the most minor signs of wear visible upon close inspection. The bracelet remains tight with virtually no stretch, while the case retains its strong proportions and crisp appearance. Adding to its appeal the original case back sticker remains intact.
Our Thoughts:
The 114270 occupies a unique position within the Explorer lineage. Produced during a period when larger watches were becoming increasingly popular, it remained faithful to the traditional 36mm proportions that had defined the model for decades. As a result, the watch feels remarkably balanced on the wrist, avoiding the oversized presence that characterised many sports watches of the era.
The simplicity is ultimately what gives the watch its enduring appeal. The 114270 does not rely on previous metals, complications, or elaborate finishing to stand out. Instead, it succeeds through proportion, legibility, and practicality, qualities that have defined the Explorer collection since its origins as a watch built for adventure and exploration.
