Condition:
The Overall condition is 9/10 with the watch rarely worn kept in excellent condition. The case appears to be unpolished with minimal wear and no obvious dents or damage. The Grand Feu enamel dial with applied Breguet numerals is in perfect condition with no cracks or damage. Alligator strap is slightly worn with some bending and the clasp have slight waer as well but no obvious dents or damage.
The watch comes in full set with all box, papers and accessories including extra solid caseback in platinum.
Our Thoughts:
The 5370P is widely regarded by collectors as one of the finest examples of modern Patek Philippe watchmaking. At its heart is the manually wound CHR 29-535 PS calibre, a beautifully finished split-seconds chronograph movement featuring two column wheels and a sophisticated rattrapante mechanism.
Equally impressive is the black Grand Feu enamel dial, which is considerably more difficult to produce than traditional white enamel. The deep black surface makes even the smallest imperfections more noticeable, requiring exceptional precision throughout the firing and finishing process. Complemented by applied white-gold Breguet numerals, the dial offers a striking yet remarkably classical appearance.
What makes the 5370P particularly special is how closely it embodies the qualities that collectors associate with a “pure” Patek Philippe. Rather than relying on an abundance of complications or an elaborate design, the watch brings together an exceptional movement, traditional dial craftsmanship and timeless proportions. It represents a particularly compelling balance between Patek Philippe's historic watchmaking traditions and its modern technical capabilities.
