Our Thoughts:
When the Royal Oak Offshore was first introduced in the early 1990s, it was created as a more masculine and contemporary design that add appeals too the younger audience and those who are more active. Most Royal Oak Offshore models like the first ever Royal Oak Offshore is produced upwards of 42min in case size, Interestingly, this Royal Oak Offshore Triple Calendar variant came not long after the initial launch of the Royal Oak Offshore. Whilst some considered the Royal Oak Offshore as a flop at its initial launch due to the size and thickness, this neo-vintage piece is beautifully designed in a “Medium” 38mm case that was a lot more appealing at its time.
As someone from Hong Kong, we love the that Audemars Piguet decided to create a limited edition for the return of the territories of Hong Kong and Kowloon to China. Produced in 97 pieces to mark the handover in 1997, it showed the brands ambition in making a statement in the asian markets in the 1990s. A truly special and bespoke piece, Some of the details of the watch is hardly ever seen again on any other Audemars Piguet most notably the traditional Chinese fonts on the triple calendar discs and the fonts on the caseback.
