Our Thoughts:

The 25594BA represents an interesting period in the evolution of the Royal Oak, when Audemars Piguet began introducing traditional complications into a design originally conceived as a luxury sports watch. Despite displaying the day, date and moon phase, the dial remains remarkably balanced, with the two large calendar sub dials giving the watch its distinctive “Owl” appearance and the moon phase neatly positioned at six o’clock.

At 36mm, the 25594 also retains the more restrained proportions associated with earlier generations of the Royal Oak. In full yellow gold, these proportions help balance what could otherwise be an imposing watch, while the integrated bracelet and octagonal case give it an unmistakable presence on the wrist.

Perhaps most telling is the longevity of the reference. The 25594 remained in the Royal Oak collection for more than two decades, an unusually long period for a single model and a testament to the strength of the original design.
