What makes the “Nick Faldo“ particularly interesting is its unconventional use of materials. At a time when stainless steel and precious metals dominated the Royal Oak collection, Audemar PIguet chose to pair tantalum with stainless steel, creating a watch with a distinctive appearance that changes subtly depending on lighting. The contrast between the two metals give the watch a character unlike any other Royal Oak from the period.
Beyond its materials, the reference reflects an era when AUdemar Piguet was willing to experiment with the Royal Oak in ways that now feel remarkably forward-thinking.
